Our mission is to serve Christ and spread the Gospel of His love through the power of the Holy Spirit ..."to the ends of the earth". The Lord has currently called us to do that as missionaries with Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras.
Honduras is located in the southern portion of Central America. It is a country of over 7.5 million people with almost 40% of the population under the age of 14. Over 50% of the population lives below the poverty line making it one of the five poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. There remain an inordinate number of orphans in Honduras due to the extreme poverty and the governments policy on adoption.
At the orphanage, Reed will help continue to develop the farm as a way of stabilizing sources of food and improving nutrition for the approximately 400 children at Emmanuel. As a part of the responsibilities on the farm, Reed works with many boys teaching and learning skills that they can use to become productive citizens of their own country. He also ministers to a house of boys. Kim is currently working with the volunteers and helps with one of the girls houses in addition to caring for the Skinner family. More importantly, AS A FAMILY we will be witnessing the love and grace of Jesus Christ to all of the children.
